A would-be victim of a carjacking turned the tables on his assailants, shooting and killing one of them. Authorities are still looking for the second suspect.
According to HCSO reports, on Tuesday, July 09, 2019 at approximately 12:50 a.m., deputies with the Harris County Sheriff's Office responded to a shooting in the 22800 block of Trevor Way.
Upon arrival, they found a 19-year old black male (Kyron Lyle Hagan, 19) unresponsive with a gunshot wound to the neck. The male was transported to Northwest Memorial Hospital where he died from his injuries. While still on the original shooting scene, deputies were notified of another shooting victim, 30- year-old Hispanic male, who arrived at the hospital with a gunshot wound to the lower hip. The Hispanic male told deputies he arrived home, in the 22800 block of Trevor Way, from work, when two-armed black males approached him, demanding his pickup truck. When he refused, one male shot him, forcing him to retrieve his handgun and exchange gunfire with both suspects. Both suspects fled the scene on foot. The Hispanic male went home, and was then transported to the hospital by family.
Deputies were able to confirm the deceased male as one of the males who robbed him.
The second male was described as a black male, early twenties, medium build and wearing a grey hoodie.
The Homicide Unit is conducting the investigation and their findings will be presented to the Harris County District Attorney's Office for disposition.
