Constable Mark Herman's Training Division's Annual Board Meeting A Success
On September 22, 2020, Constable Mark Herman's Training Division held its annual Training Academy Advisory Board Meeting as required by Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) rules.
TCOLE is the state agency that oversees law enforcement agencies throughout the state of Texas.
TCOLE rules require that all Law Enforcement Training providers have an advisory board comprised of at least three members and at least 1/3 must be public members and not law enforcement.
Constable Mark Herman's training advisory board is comprised entirely of public members of the community, and they are responsible for advising on the development of curriculum and any other related duties of the training division.
The advisory board looks at issues within the Precinct 4 communities and recommends training for law enforcement officers that will have a positive effect on the lives and safety of the public.
During the past year, Constable Herman's Training Division hosted over 281 law enforcement training classes at our Academy totaling 40877 hours of instruction.
This extensive training included numerous of hours of De-Escalation Training, Crisis Intervention Training, Civilian Interaction Training, and Community Based Policing to name a few.
This training was provided free of charge to 2967 law enforcement professionals from agencies all across the state of Texas.
Thank you to each Advisory Board member for dedicating your time to invest in not only our department, but the community we serve!
