A mother has been charged with Child Endangerment after deputies discovered she'd left her son in a vehicle unattended while she was inside of a local Walmart shoplifting.
According to reports from PCT 4, on June 13, 2018, a deputy with Constable Mark Herman's Office responded to the Wal-Mart located in the 24800 block of Aldine Westfield Road in reference to a shoplifter.
Upon arriving, the deputy located and identified the suspect as Dimitric Knight (34, Crosby). It was determined that Knight concealed over $70.00 worth of makeup inside her purse and attempted to exit the store without paying.
Also during the course of the investigation, the Constable Deputy discovered Knight had left her 7-year-old son in the backseat of her vehicle for over 40 minutes. The vehicle was found not running and only one window down approximately 4 inches. The temperature was well over 90 degrees.
The child was treated at the location before being released to a family member. The stolen makeup was returned to Wal-Mart.
"Dimitric Knight was arrested, booked into the Harris County Jail and charged with Child Endangerment. Her bond is set at $1,000.00 out of the 182nd District Court." - Constable Mark Herman
