A security guard from Spring was arrested Wednesday after he flashed a badge and pretended to be a cop during a traffic encounter with another driver.
According to reports from PCT 4, on August 15, 2018, Constable Mark Herman's Office responded to the 21900 block of Aldine Westfield Road in reference to a disturbance. Upon deputies arriving, the complainant advised she attempted to make a U-turn but then observed a motorcycle approaching very fast. The driver of the motorcycle then drove into a ditch to avoid collision.
The complainant advised she stopped to check on the driver of the motorcycle but he became belligerent, displayed a badge, stated he was a police officer and demanded her information. The complainant advised his demeanor and actions were not consistent with a police officer and she immediately called 911.
Constable Deputies detained the suspect and identified him as Steve Sutton (22, Spring). Deputies located the badge he displayed and it was discovered he was a security guard.
"Steven Sutton was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail, charged with Impersonating a Public Servant. His bond is set at $2,500.00 out of the 337th District Court." - Constable Mark Herman
