The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office will be ramping up patrols in the north Spring area after a woman was cut during an attempted abduction while she was out jogging.
According to reports from MCSO, on October 8, 2018, at about 8:50 pm, Deputies with the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to the Imperial Chase Apartment complex located at 25510 Brookhaven in Spring in reference to an assault with a knife.
When Deputies arrived, they met with the victim a, 28-year-old Hispanic female. She advised Deputies she had been cut with a knife while out running. Deputies learned from the victim that she was jogging on Oakhurst Drive close to the apartment complex when a small passenger car stopped with its high beam lights pointed toward her. According to the victim, the driver got out and tried to pull her into his vehicle. The victim fought the male back, at which time he cut her with a knife on her left arm. The victim was able to break free of his grasp, at which time the male got back into the vehicle and fled the location.
The victim immediately ran to her residence and called 911.
The victim described her attacker as a black or Hispanic male wearing a dark colored sweatshirt. She also said there were two males in the vehicle, but only got a decent look at the one who attached her.
Deputies patrolled the area and were unable to locate the vehicle or any suspects matching the description. The victim was treated by EMS and was subsequently transported to a local hospital.
The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office will be conducting additional patrols in the area in an attempt to locate the suspect and or vehicle.
