A 30-year-old male suspect has been arrested for allegedly starting several fires in and around a local apartment complex.
According to reports from the Harris County Fire Marshal's Office, on May 14, HCFMO arrested Alan Christopher Kerber (30) at his residence located in the 8000 block of Augusta Pine Drive in the Haven of Augusta Woods apartment complex.
Kerber was arrested on an open felony warrant for arson after a nine-month investigation in which he allegedly started several fires in and around the Haven of Augusta Woods apartments.
"After a long investigation, HCFMO investigators were able to take Kerber off the streets before he started a fire that hurt someone," said Harris County Fire Marshal Laurie L. Christensen. "I'm proud of the work of our investigators and appreciate the assistance of the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco Firearms and Explosives (ATF). We would not have been able to make this arrest without the assistance of our partners."
ATF assisted the HCFMO by setting up a complex system of surveillance to track the suspect. Harris County Constable's Office Precinct 4 assisted HCFMO with serving the warrant.
