Klein ISD Health Science students involved in the HOSA future health professionals student organization medaled and were given special recognition at the HOSA International Leadership Conference.

The students who qualified competed against individuals and teams from across the world. Klein ISD had a total of 27 students competing, with 16 students placing in the top 10 internationally in their respective events.

In addition, for the 6th year in a row, Klein High School had the largest number of high school students qualify and compete at Internationals with 25 students.

The HOSA Bowl is considered to be the pinnacle of HOSA success, compiling information from all health science courses, including anatomy and physiology, pharmacology, medical terminology, and parliamentary procedure topics.

This is the third year in a row that the Klein HOSA team has made it to the final round in the HOSA Bowl, and the second year in a row they have brought home the gold!

The Klein High School HOSA team was also awarded the Barbara James Service Award for exemplifying care and compassion in their community by performing health-related philanthropic service.

Students volunteered in a variety of public health community events as members of the Harris County Junior Medical Reserve Corps and with Klein HOSA.

The Klein High School six-member HOSA team volunteered a total of 1,606 hours during the 2019-2020 school year.

Kwisha Patel brought further achievement to the Klein High School team by winning first place in the Clinical Nursing event.

The Clinical Nursing event aims to inspire members to use critical thinking skills and be equipped with insight to treat patients in a clinical setting through both knowledge tests and a demonstration of nursing skills.

Kwisha graduated from Klein ISD and Lone Star College as a member of the Advanced Nursing Pathway, receiving her Associates degree.

She is currently taking prerequisite courses for her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree and will be attending Texas Woman’s University next semester

Congratulations to these outstanding students for their incredible success at this distinguished international competition.

Your Klein Community is extremely proud of you.
