Dr. Pamela Breaux, Klein Forest Assistant Principal, was recently named a 2021 Houston Business Journal (HBJ) Diversity Champion during the Diversity in Business Awards.

“Pam shows up to work every day with a servant’s heart,” said Lance Alexander, Klein Forest High School Principal.

“Her spirit is contagious and she lives with a smile on her face.

Her mission is to make Klein ISD a better place and that is exactly what she is doing.”

Each year, HBJ searches for remarkable individuals in Houston across all industries, from energy companies to educational institutions.

These honorees are selected for their deep commitment to embracing, educating, and celebrating diversity in their respective fields.

“It brings me so much joy to celebrate Dr. Breaux on this well-deserved honor,” said Dr. Jenny McGown, Klein ISD Superintendent.

“Dr. Breaux shows us time and time again that she truly has a heart for kids through her ‘we not me’ spirit and relationship-driven leadership.

We are so proud to have her in our Klein Family and know that her positive impact will continue to radiate across our district and community.”

In the words of Dr. Breaux, “the most important thing about diversity is having a common understanding of what diversity truly is.”

When it comes to what she does here in Klein ISD, Dr. Breaux knows that this important work is that of a collective and collaborative nature.

“I work with educators from diverse backgrounds and identities,” said Dr. Breaux.

“We are intentional with our efforts to acknowledge the diversity amongst us and celebrate the diversity by seeking to have every voice heard, particularly on decisions that impact the whole community.”

The work of Dr. Breaux and so many others in our Klein Family is making a lasting impression on our students, families, and staff.

“The opportunities to boost diversity are endless,” said Dr. Breaux.

“My personal experience has been such that teachers, particularly people of color, desire to know that they can bring their fullest selves to the work environment, and that begins with a commitment to the community.”

Without a doubt, Dr. Breaux is a great role model and leader in Klein ISD!

Congratulations on this outstanding achievement!
